Poet, translator and literary critic Nerses Atabekyan was born in 1960, Yerevan, Armenia. He graduated from ESU the faculty of Philology in 1984. In 1992 he got his PhD of Philology. He is a member of WAB of Armenia since 1999 and the member of AWAB presidium and forum of CIC and Baltic countries.
Published 3 poetry collections: “Life till morning”, 1993, “Twins”, 2004, “Annual readings”, 2008.
He has translated the works of I.Brodsky, R. Bakh, M.Shagal, M.Boulgakov. S.Dovlatov, V.Shalamov, in periodicals the works of I.Bebel, M. Tsvetaeva, L.Ulitskaya, A. Soljenitsin, D.Brown, V.Erofeev, B.Akounin.
He was awarded the honoured prizes of “Kantegh”, “Mktrtich Sargsyan” for translations, the annual translation prize of “Nartsis”, the medals of “Hakob Meghapart” and “Frityoff Nansen”.
